Ksenia Sapunkova is a Canadian artist who was born in Ukraine, and grew up in Lviv. After graduating with a BA Sculpture at the I.Trush College in Lviv she moved to Toronto to pursue illustration and attend graduate school at Sheridan college. Currently she works in the studio with a wide range of media. Her choice of tools is a mix of watercolour and Ink media, which she discovered as the most efficient to create atmospheric and conceptual illustrations. Ksenia collaborates with magazines, newspapers and book publishers. Since 2014 she works at the Byzantine Iconographic studio where she assists master iconographers to create the murals for churches, where she also practices painting the medium size Byzantine icons. Her paintings can be found in private collections and museums in Canada, US, Ukraine, France, England, Russia, Poland and Italy.
